I live in North Carolina…where are some good areas to fish for Bass?

I have new quantum accurist baitcasting reel on a 7’0 Heavy Action Rod with a fast action. My question is can I use this rod for flipping. I am not comfortable with a 7’6 rod and I want to use this rod to for fishing a topwater frog in hvy cover.

I’m looking for the hottest, best catching bass fishing lure in the country. Which is it?
