A Quick Guide To Reaction Baits

Category: Uncategorized

What is a reaction bait and when should it be used?

Reaction baits are extremely popular in the bass fishing arena today. This is because fishing for bass is getting harder and harder owing to declining numbers and a massive increase in popularity over the last few years. Bass are also believed to be getting wise to the old style baits if you believe several experts in the field. However, regardless of what you believe, the simple fact is that reaction baits do have a great measure of success when used in the right circumstances. Reaction baits are designed for use in the spring and summer months when the bass are at their most active and abundant in the lake or river in question. During that time of year, the fish are nearer to the surface of the water and they will actively chase bait. However, in winter, they will not chase bait but simply go for bait that is convenient and slow moving. As such, the reaction bait will not tempt a bass into striking at that time of year. You should use it when there is plenty of activity on the lake They are specifically designed to make the bass react to them by moving quickly and attracting their attention. This can often elicit a bite. Examples of the reaction bait are the jerk bait, spinner bait and crank bait, although there are others. You should perhaps try some of the reaction baits out there to see which ones you can work best with. You have plenty of choice so be sure to make the most of it!
