What is your most productive largemouth bass fishing technique?

My most productive Largemouth Bass fishing technique is using a white spinnerbait with an Indiana blade in and around dense lily pads. I use this technique primarily in Minnesota and other northern states when bass fishing. The key is to find a section of lily pads that is near the shoreline but also offers quick and easy access to deep water. There are several different places the bass will hide in these weeds, each needs to be fished thoroughly. I start by concentrating on the perimeter of the weeds. I will cast the spinnerbait and employ a fast retrieve running parallel to the weedline. This technique works well for active fish feeding off the edges. I like my bait to ride about one to three feet deep when fishing in this manner. When that tactic ceases to work I then begin to go right at the fish. The key is looking for pockets in the pads. I will cast into these pockets and employ a retrieve that consists of a twitch of the rod and pause. Fishing in this manner causes the spinnerbait to rise to the top of the water and then flutter down. As is flutters down the plastic skirt provides an action that often entices fish that are more inactive. The key in fishing this area is reading the weeds. There are many different techniques you can use in these areas depending on how dense the pads are. Choosing the correct strategy will increase your results immensely.
