Can I use a drop-shotting for Bass Fishing?

Absolutely!  Drop-shotting just happens to be one of the most popular techniques being used by Bass fishermen today.  It’s actually a technique that works well for catching Bass not only after the spawn but in the midsummer and winter months as well.  Drop-shotting is a technique that is perfect for deep water and deep water is where you’ll find the biggest Bass.  Of course, you can catch Bass in the shallow water but to get the really big ones, you’re going to have to go deep.  What actually constitutes “deep water” depends on where you live or where you’ll actually be fishing.  Deep water in Texas, for example could be 80 or 90 feet while deep water in Florida may be closer to 20 feet.  Regardless of your location, the deepest water on the body you’re fishing is where you’ll find the Bass.  The drop-shotting technique has been around for a long time and first became popular among Bass fishermen in Japan.  It is usually the most effective when the water is clear or you can accurately pinpoint the exact spot that the Bass are suspended.  Drop-shotting has also been referred to as down-shotting.  As the popularity of this method continues to grow, we’re starting to see new products flooding the market designed to make it even more effective.
