Is bass fishing popular?

Category: Bass Fishing

Why do you think Bass fishing is becoming more popular?

Bass fishing is currently the number one freshwater sport in America and the Bass fishing industry continues to grow.  Last time I checked, Bass fishing was 70% more popular than any other type of freshwater fishing and has spawned an industry worth an estimated 4.8 billion dollars.  Twenty five years ago, that number was closer to one million dollars.  One of the reasons for the popularity of Bass Fishing is that it is a sport that can produce a professional from just about any background and in many cases with no particular talent.  Anyone who’s willing to spend some time on the water practicing the techniques and learning the basics can become a Bass Fishing professional and can compete and win high dollar tournaments.  As the industry continues to grow, the opportunities for careers increases as well.  Many Bass Fishermen are making a lot of money acting as guides.  Another reason for it’s popularity is the amount of media coverage Bass Fishing is getting on television.  As more and more viewers tune in to these shows, the interest in Bass Fishing continues to climb.  Bass Fishing is also a great sport for the entire family to participate in and is becoming more and more popular with women and children as well.

DAN LOVES FISHING...
I have a lot to say, Dan, and I have many questions of my own. But for now, I like to express my "thanks" for dedicating so much of your time to run this web site and buy you some fishing tackle!
