Night Fishing for Largemouth Bass

I live in central florida and there are alot of lakes here. I want to start night fishing for largemouth bass but am not sure the best lure or the color to use. Also, can i fish closer to the bank at night?

Lure pattern and color is probably the most confusing part to lure selection for most anglers. There are just so many of them that it is hard to know which does what, and when it should or should not be used. When you add things like Yum flavors and scents, you have added yet another confusing element to the mix. There is a simple formula to help you determine which lure color to use to catch largemouth bass, and should help you to make a decision, and it is even based on both science and practical experience. There have been a multitude of tests, both practical and experimental science that have seemed to indicate that bass preferred. The color red just seems to elicit more bites than any other color. This has been proven in laboratory conditions and in the field. If science does not work for you, try this old recommendation that has certainly withstood the anglers test of time. In clear water conditions, use brightly colored lures, and in turbid water, use darker lures! As bass fishing has become more and more popular, science has seemed to take over. Lure color selection is no exception to that rule, and if all else fails you, you can now choose lure color based on an instrument that measures light and water clarity. The thing is, you really have to rely on one thing and one thing only, and that is whatever gets the best results for you based on the test of time. If you try it, and it does not work, move on to something else. If you try it, and it works, keep at it! Best of luck to you!
