When bank fishing for Bass - what type of spot should I be looking for?

When searching for a suitable place on the bank to fish for bass there are a few key points you need to look for. Bass like to hide in thick brush, under rocks, and in various underwater cover. If you find a spot that is covered in reeds and lily pads, chances are it’s about perfect. You might have to muck your way through to some of these spots so be prepared to get dirty and even for various plant life with thorns. Wear suitable clothing and don’t get hurt! In addition to heavily vegetated areas a great spot would be a point or some place that creates a little nook for the bass to be in. A place with large rocks or trees, for instance, would be ideal.  Make sure that these little spots are sturdy though, it should have enough structure for you to easily stand there and for you to struggle with a big fish should one swim your way.  Other signs to look for would be breaks in moving water. Bass like to hide just under little breaks in streams or even moving lakes and catch the little minnows as they fall down. If you find one of these spots you are likely to catch one in a feeding frenzy. Be very careful when bank fishing. Take precautions to make sure that if you fall you will be okay. Make sure as previously stated that your spot has enough stability and if there are trees about, use a rod that is no larger than six feet to avoid tangles.  Be careful, have fun, catch a big one!
