I’m looking for the hottest, best catching bass fishing lure in the country. Which is it?
I always advise carrying an arsenal of different lures in your box to catch Largemouth Bass. If however you are looking for one lure that is better than the others look no farther than the Spinnerbait. In selecting a lure one needs to examine the patterns of the fish you are seeking to catch. Largemouth Bass are a predatory species that relies on heavy cover. It prefers water that is calm. Largemouth bass typically feed in water than is between three and nine feet deep. They prefer shorelines or areas of heavy weeds. The spinnerbait is a great selection for these fish because it is a versatile lure that can be fished in the habitats the Largemouth bass prefers. You can employ a fast retrieve and fish this lure near the surface of the water to attract active bass. On days in which the Largemouth Bass are not active you can slow down the retrieve and fish this lure effectively at three or even six foot depths. If you are fishing areas of heavy weeds you will find that this lure is practically weedless. Without a treble hook it does not get caught up in weeds like other lure choices. As an added bonus an excellent way to fish this lure is to allow it to drop in pockets between the weeds. As a spinnerbait drops its skirt moves in a fashion that is often too much for a Largemouth Bass to pass up. Many fish I have caught struck the lure as it was merely dropping in the water in a weed pocket. If you are on a tight budget or are just looking to keep one type of lure on hand for a quick fishing trip go for the spinnerbait. Without a doubt the most versatile and successful lure for catching Largemouth Bass.
