When choosing a rod for bass fishing – is one material better than another?

The tools maketh the man apparently, and that is completely true of bass fishing. Any bass fishing enthusiast with a few years experience under his or her belt will tell you that the type of rod and the material that it is made of can make all the difference between success and failure. You have to feel comfortable with it and get a feel for it or else the material it is made of will not matter, but there are a few things you should know before choosing your rod. A rod made of graphite or fiberglass is always a good start. Both of these materials make good rods for beginners and experts alike. They are also very common and very affordable so you do not need to pay a small fortune to benefit from it. The material will determine the nature and properties of the rod, but there are varying degrees of flexibility, sensitivity and longevity in each and every rod because no two are the same. You can choose a material for the relative properties but you have to asess the individual rod for the level or measure of the properties. So, in more simple terms, there is no one material that is better than another for bass fishing. Graphite is more sensitive and this is why many bass fishing enthusiasts generally prefer it, although technology has actually made the fiberglass rod a lot more sensitive these daysas well. My advice is to try holding a few rods and see which one you prefer. If you are happy with your rod, you will undoubtedly be more successful.
