Where Can I Go Bass Fishing In Washington DC?

Category: Uncategorized

I’ll be in Washington D.C. for business, and I’m wondering if there’s anywehre to go fishing for bass?

No matter where you are in the USA, if you are a bass fishing enthusiast then you can always find a little action! Washington D.C. is no exception to this rule. There are some great places to go fishing for bass both within D.C and just outside of the district in Virginia and Maryland. You can find both largemouth bass and smallmouth bass in the lakes and rivers in Washington DC and they are plentiful. However, as the temperature really dips in the winter, the spring and the summer are the best tims to go fishing. Fall can also provide some great bass fishing action, but going in winter would probably be a waste of your time. There are two main places to fish for bass that spring to mind – the Potomac River and Rock Creek. The former is quite choppy and provides an interesting bass fishing experience for you. It is not the best place to go for beginners but those a little more experienced and looking for a challenge will get a lot out of going there for a few days. Rock Creek is a little more gentle and perfect for a day’s bass fishing, no matter what your skill level. The bass are plentiful and it is easier to fish i the lake. However, there are areas of vegetation in both that you might want to be aware of! Whichever one you choose to fish in, the action can be fierce and the catches plentiful so relax and enjoy!
