The best bass fishing in California is in the southern parts of the state around San Diego, which has the best reputation for some trophy size bass. Orville Ball is responsible for the Florida bass being introduced in the waters of San Diego. The reservoirs have proven to be the best places to fish for bass. During the week, you may find quiet waters to fish, but on the weekends, there is a lot of traffic to contend with if you are bass fishing. Barrett’s Lake is one such place to fish bass. It is not that large, but it is over eight hundred acres. The only problem you might have is that the water is controlled and if you want to fish, you need to gain entry into the water. The water is a catch and release only water. If you want a water where you can keep the bass you catch, the northern part of California has Trinity Lake where the large and smallmouth bass are abundant. You will find plenty of camping around the water so that you can enjoy camping, fishing and some sightseeing if you have time. The water has three arms as they say. There is the North Lake, Main Arm and the Stuart Fork Arm where you can fish for bass. This lake is a great place to fish and relax without so much other water activities. If you fish the mornings and nights, you should have quiet, you need to catch some fish.
